Need to revive your library and boost circulation? We propose a two-pronged approach that will breathe new life into secondary school libraries. Reviving secondary libraries means creating a safe, comfortable haven for teen readers while igniting a passion for literacy. Participants will walk away with bold, practical strategies for vibrant displays, student-centered spaces, and intentional literacy programming that renews energy and increases circulation in secondary libraries.

In this session, you will see how one high school librarian organizes her whole year by aligning her monthly activities and classes with the 6 library strands: Information Literacy, Inquiry, Reading, Digital Learning, Safe & Nurturing Environment, and Leadership.  Creating a digital storage space for all of your information will help you stay organized as well as make your appraisal easier when you have to provide documentation.  Tech tools used in this session include Canva, Wakelet, Google Sites, AI Bots and more. You will leave this session with concrete examples and all of the templates you need to start planning for the year.

With the new Tech Apps TEKS changing and the inclusion of robotics and coding into library maker spaces and innovation labs this is a great time to collaborate with teachers while you all have a great time learning to code in a fun and easy way. Kai’s Education has two fun products that we will explore….Kaibot for our beginners and Kai’s Clan as our students move up. Come have some fun playing with robots and learning to code!
